All From a Walnut by Ammi-Joan Paquette illustrated by Felicita Sala
This is such a gorgeous book about a tree that has been 'passed on' through generations. It is also a book about new life and loss, and how nature connects all of us.
This story is so well-written in a way that gets you attatched to each of the characters, even the tree.
These illustrations are beautiful and perfectly show the story - the colors are so vivid!
Pebbles and the Biggest Number by Joey Benun illustrated by Laura Watson
Join Pebbles the Butterfly as he flutters around trying to find the biggest number and meets lots of different animals along the way!
This book is jam-packed with loads of math and science facts! It's great for any kid who loves learning and is guaranteed to make any reluctant learner interested in both science and math.
Because I Had a Teacher by Kobi Yamada illustrated by Natalie Russell
Teacher Appreciation Week is in May, so I put this one in here with the spring books <3
This book is so sweet and inspirational. It would make a great gift for any teacher! It lets them know how much the student values them and how they helped the student grow and learn!
The illustrations are so cute - I love the little bears! Kobi Yamada's books are absolutely amazing - we own almost all of them!
Goodbye Winter, Hello Spring by Kenard Pak
Join a little boy and his dog as they journey through the change of winter to spring!
Kenard Pak’s Changing Seasons books are so beautifully illustrated, and make great read-alouds. The illustrations are GORGEOUS! The scenery and lighting are absolutely beautiful.
Celia Planted a Garden by Phyllis Root and Gary D. Schmidt illustrated by Melissa Sweet
This gorgeous book is about the true story of Celia Thaxter and how she slowly but surely turned a gray, dreary island into a beautiful one, popping with color!
I loved learning about Celia Thaxter and how she grew up with the island being a special piece of her life story. The illustrations are so beautiful!
When Tree Became a Tree by Rob Hodgson
Similar to When Cloud Became a Cloud, this adorable book tells how Tree…becomes a Tree!
Join her on her journey from itty bitty seed to tall apple tree!
I personally like the cloud book better, but this one is still adorable! The collage-style pictures are so whimsy and each character’s facial expressions are super cute!
Tap the Magic Tree by Christie Matheson.
Tap the magic tree to help it change throughout the seasons - have fun with the many surprises in store!
Little ones have so much fun tapping the interactive pages and shaking the book to make the seasons change!

The Pink Umbrella by Amelie Callot illustrated by Genevieve Godbout
Adele runs a café, The Polka-Dot Apron, which is the heart of the town. When the weather is bright and sunny, Adele is sweet, loving, carefree, and invites every passer-by into her little shop. But when it's gloomy out, Adele can't help but stay in her room and close up her café.
Adele is so kind and helpful to the customers of her shop, so one of her customers decides to repay her kindness. He slowly leaves gifts for Adele so she can see how wonderful a rainy day could be.
Little Bea by Daniel Roode
Join Little Bea as she visits all of her friends in the meadow!
This is one of my family's FAVORITE picture books.
Little Bea is such a sweet character for little ones, and her friends make great pals throughout the story!
I really have no words for how many memories of my family are lodged in this book for me. <3
Snail Crossing by Corey R. Tabor
Snail needs to cross the road. No big deal, right?! Wrong. Join snail on his treacherous journey across the road in this silly book!
This book is HILARIOUS! My mom and I were laughing throughout the whole thing, especially the part where Snail yells “EVASIVE MANEUVERS! EVASIVE MANEUVERS!”
Snail Crossing doesn’t really have anything to do with spring, but there’s something so undeniably spring-y about it, lol.
Miss Rumphius by Barbara Cooney
This classic story of Alice Rumphius is beautifully told and illustrated by the great Barbara Cooney.
Alice Rumphius longs to live a life by the sea, and make the world a better place. Her small way of doing this is planting lupine seeds wherever she goes.
This book is such a classic, and is one that should be in any home library. The illustrations are so pretty, and suit the story perfectly.
Mel Fell by Corey R. Tabor
It’s springtime and Mel needs to learn how to fly. But can I let you in on a secret? (She’s scared.)
She doesn’t let being scared stop her, though! She takes a big leap off of the branch and…falls. Lots of times. Very far down.
Join Mel in this sweet story as she gains confidence and learns how to never give up!
When Cloud Became a Cloud by Rob Hodgson
Join Cloud as she...well...becomes a Cloud!
This book is just SO ADORABLE!
My mom got this from the library as a fun book to read for science (we were studying clouds at the time). If you know my mom, you know that she finds science to be Boring with a capital B, but when she read this book aloud she lit up! She was reading in different voices and and inflections, lol. When she finished she yelled "I LOVE THIS BOOK! BEST SCIENCE BOOK I'VE EVER READ!"
Beatrix Potter, Scientist by Linsday H. Metcalf illustrated by Junyi Wu.
Many know how Beatrix Potter wrote her famous books about Peter Rabbit and his friends, but don't know about her scientific life. She was an amazing biologist in her private life, studying animals and little critters of all shapes!
Join her on her journey to becoming the woman we know her as today!
