Back to School Favs
Back-to-school (or homeschool!) is an exciting time!
I always loved shopping for new art supplies, folders, and notebooks at the beginning of the school year.
These have been my favorite supplies year after year.
I’ve linked things for all ages, so you’re sure to find something to love!
Whether you’re using this list for shopping inspiration or purchasing directly from these links,
I hope I’ve made your shopping experience easier and smoother!

Ticonderoga Pencils
These pencils are the best for writing! They work great on any paper texture - and are cute pastel colors! There are other color options if your kid isn’t into the light pink vibe, haha.
(I love that they come sharpened!)
Mechanical Pencil Set
This one comes with three refillable mechanical pencils and three hundred and sixty lead refills. Great for the environment and for saving space in your pencil pouch!
(There are 0.5 mm, 0.7 mm, and 0.9 mm options available.)
Pencil Sharpeners
Pencil sharpeners are a must for any classroom setting. Pop one in your pencil pouch for easy access, and one in your backpack for a back-up!
These sharpeners have a container attached to catch all of the pencil shavings. No need to sharpen over the garbage can every time!
Cute Pencil Case
If your kid wants a bit more fun on their pencil pouch, there are hundreds of design options to choose from! I’ve seen shark ones where their mouth is the opening of the case, cats, dragons, capybaras and so many more! Below I’ve linked this capybara one as well as a link for you to browse through others.
Pastel Colored Pencils
These colored pencils are the cutest shades of all the colors!
Bright, vibrant, and sturdy, they’d make the perfect addition to any pencil case <3
Colored Pencils
Shuttle Art is one of my favorite art supply brands! I love their colored pencils - this set of 60 has two versions; one for pastel colors, and a metallic colors set for a little extra shimmer!
Rainbow Colored Pencils
These colored pencils are the CUTEST most COLORFUL addition to your school supplies. I love how the colors fade into each other!
Soucolor Colored Pencils
Soucolor is my favorite brand for colored pencils! The pigment is sturdy so it won’t break easily when sharpening, and it goes on the paper so smoothly.
Crayons
I’m convinced that Crayola crayons are ingrained in every one of our memories at school. They’re soft, don’t break easily, and the colors are vibrant!
Triangular Crayons
If you are a teacher or homeschool parent of little ones, these triangular crayons are a helpful tool if your kid/s are working on writing! The shape guides them towards a writing grip and improves penmanship!
Jumbo Kids’ Pencils
Younger kids have a difficult time gripping tiny pencils, so these are perfect for their little hands! The pencils are shorter and thicker than most for easy use <3
Mechanical Pencils
This set of 40 mechanical pencils is perfect for a teacher to buy for their classroom, or for a student to keep in their pencil pouch. The lead is strong and complies to most school shopping list requirements!
Multiple color options are available, including multi color, black, and pastel.
Pencil Case
This pencil case is SUPER spacious and can hold all your stationary needs! It can hold your pencils, pens, highlighters, markers, post-its, glue sticks, erasers, and still have room for other little things like earbuds!
Retractable Gel Pens cont.
These are the same brand as the previous pen set, but this is a pack of 12 instead of six <3
Jumbo Beeswax Crayons
Just like the jumbo pencils on the top of this list, jumbo crayons are great for little hands! Easy to grip and non-toxic, these are a wonderful option for your little one!
Here are a few scissors for different ages - and don’t worry, there’s an options for lefties too!
Just click on the photos and you’ll be taken to the link <3
Giant Glue Sticks
Large glue sticks are better for little hands than tiny ones <3 And the disappearing purple color makes it easy for kids to see where they’ve already put glue, and where they need to add more!
Washable Glue Sticks
These glue sticks are regular-sized, for larger hands. This set of thirty would come in handy for a teacher to have in their classroom, or a homeschool parent to have for art projects!
Wite-Out
At the risk of sounding old and crotchety, I know a lot of writing is done on the computer nowadays, but on the occasions you do write on paper, wite-out is a life-saver! I use mine all the time and love it <3
Graph Paper
This is by far my favorite graph paper set! The texture is amazing, it’s the perfect size to slip into your backpack and workbook, and the colors are adorable! I hated the boring white paper and I’m so happy I found this colorful option!
Basic Calculator
A calculator is a great thing to have on hand to check your equations! No need to use a device’s calculator with distracting notifications anymore!
Chalk Markers
Chalk sticks can be…messy, to say the least. But these chalk markers can help! No dust residue and no hassle. They’re non-toxic, water-based, and easy to use!
Binder Clips
I have this set and love them! The colors are super pretty and the clips themselves are sturdy. They also come in black if you’re looking for a neutral color.
Art Supply Holder
If your desk gets cluttered, this is the perfect solution! It turns three hundred and sixty degrees, so no need to reach over the whole caddy to get the things in the back <3
Lunch Box Notes
My mom would put a new lunch box note in with my lunch every day - I loved reading them! They reminded me that she was always there in my heart, if not right there next to me.
Pencil Toppers
O.M.G. These are so stinkin’ cute!
The pencil grip on the back of the charm makes it easy to take on and off, so you can switch it as often as you like. Grab the set to add some pizzazz to your pencils!
This would be great for teachers to hand out to their students through the year!
Retractable Gel Pens
These aren’t gel pens like the ones you’d use for coloring - they’re more similar to ballpoints. And Oh. My. Goodness. They are my FAVORITE pens! I got them as a gift and I’m in love! They’re so stinkin’ smooth!
Dual Tip Markers
Dual tip markers are perfect for any art project! The fine tip is great for outlining and detailing, while the brush tip is wonderful for larger areas and blending!
Scissors for all my lefites!
Hi-Polymer Erasers
These are the only erasers I’ll use for my art. They get every little bit of pencil you want to get rid of and are super smooth and comfortable to handle!
Protractor and Compass
I got this set when I first started homeschooling and it was SO helpful for my geometry classes! The compass is super sturdy and the little pencil that comes with it is pre-sharpened!
Graph Sticky Notes
I WISH I had these when I was graphing equations! The amount of times I had to draw a mini graph to visualize an equation is insane. These are a must-have and total time saver!
Scientific Calculator
For more advanced calculations, this scientific calculator is amazing! It even comes with a stylus and notepad to draw equations and graphs on. Just press the button at the bottom and your writing will erase!
Expo Dry Erase Markers
These are a staple in every classroom - and this set comes with 36 markers that are super vibrant and easily eraseable!
Dry Erase Markers
This set comes with 32 fine tip markers. There are erasers on the top of every one, so no need to buy a separate eraser! Simply use the back of the cap and your board will be blank again!
First Aid Kit
Accidents can happen in any classroom, so it’s best to be prepared. This extensive first aid kit is the perfect thing to have on hand for those just-in-case moments!
These next items are for the teachers. The ones who give it all to their students.
Your classroom and learning space should reflect the passion you put into your work!
I’ve linked a bunch of decorative and educational items from one of my favorite brands, Hadley Designs. If you see something you like, but it isn’t quite the color scheme you’re going for, don’t worry! Simply choose another theme on the Amazon product page!
