Mr. Tiffin’s classroom series is great if you’re looking for educational picture books. My favorite one is A Poem in Your Pocket.

This would make a wonderful story time read-aloud! The reader can stop and ask questions about all of the autumn things in the story <3
Lawrence in the Fall by Matthew Farina and Doug Salati
Lawrence’s classmates are showing off their collections for a class project. Some students collect coins, some collect marbles, and some collect combs. But Lawrence doesn’t have a collection! His dad is luckily there to help, and takes him to the forest. What will they find?
I read this book for the first time last year and loved it! The pictures and the story are both beautiful. Such a cozy fall read.
How to Draw Fall Things for Kids by Alli Koch
Alli Koch is one of my favorite artists. She has beautiful how-to-draw collections, including some for kids! This one has many cute autumn drawings, including jack-o-lanterns, leaves, and woodland creatures.
Any of Alli’s books would make great gifts!

This is a sweet story about friendship, forgiveness, and of course, soup! The illustrations are gorgeous. I love the texture!
The Scarecrow by Beth Ferry and The Fan Brothers
This rhyming story showcases the heartwarming life of a scarecrow. Lonely, but strong in his purpose, he goes about his day the same way, season after season. Join him on his stationary journey in this lovely book.
The Fan Brothers’ illustrations are, as always, breathtaking. The way they portray light is stunning and the texture in each image is incredible.
Fall Leaves by Loretta Holland and Elly MacKay
This sweet autumn tale highlights all sorts of fall-like things like the arriving of the season, twisting leaves, and migrating birds.
If you haven’t read a book illustrated by Elly MacKay, what are you waiting for, haha?! Her 3D artwork is gorgeous, as well as the stories that accompany them.
Apple Picking Time by Michele Benoit Slawson and Deborah Kogan Ray
When it’s apple picking time, everyone has to help. That’s the way it’s always been. Anna, her family, and her neighbors work as one to make their harvest successful in this lovely story.
This is such a wholesome autumn book about community, helping others, and of course, apples. It should definitely be a staple in your autumn picture book library!
